Use up those strip scraps...

Trying so hard to use up those sstrips and this came in a newsletter today. Think this is so neat! I have the strips already sorted by color...hmmm...but where are they now?

Those strips are in your sewing space somewhere: you put them where you would know where they were!! P.S. Love the link and wish I had more red strips!!

DianneK 07-28-2012 05:53 AM

do hearts HAVE to be red....try other colors or just go truely scrappy!!

Julie in NM 07-28-2012 06:30 AM

Yeah...found the bags! Bag of red, bag of pink, bag of yellow, bag of green, bag of blue, bag of blackish. The fun will begin evenutally. So think I'll do a red heart, pink heart, yellow heart, green heart, blue heart and save black for someting else. Think this w/b really cute for Quilts for Kids donation.

Thank you for sharing that. I love it! I am always looking for ways to use the smallest strips. I printed the instructions to put in my "idea" notebook.

I'm in love with this darling pattern! Thanks for the link! As for your strips, I'm pretty sure they've gone to find mine... LOL!

I am going to use foundation muslin and sew selvages to them and then use this pattern to make stars. What a good idea.

The hearts are great but that is one fantastic blog - she has some beautiful quilts!! I have company coming in a couple of hours or I would be pulling strips from my stash to start a new project.

I made 8 quilts out of my scraps using this method last winter. works great and you can create your own designs.

Haha...that's just what I was thinking. I'd probably get more done if I wasn't on here looking at all the pretty quilts. Seems like I can't think of anything once I get to my sewing room, so I just cut scraps into squares. At least I'm staying busy. haha
