I made one and it's amazing how much better it is then a soft ironing pad. I used an old table top ironing board, the heavy pressed board type, one layer of cotton batting and covered it with cotton canvas. It's the best pressing surface I have.

I am making pressing boards today. I watched Sharon's video a year ago. I'm finally getting around to making it. Had to buy a 4'x8' sheet of OSB. I cut it into 8 pieces. 1 is 36"x54"& fits on top of my table. I'll put a table cloth over the table when not in use. I divided the left over wood into 7 smaller boards.
4-21"x24", 3-12"x18". The whole project cost me about $70.
I got 40% off the canvas, batting and felt @ JoAnns.
Not bad, considering I have 8 pressing boards in different sizes.
I'll keep one of each size and give 5 pressing boards away as Christmas gifts. I couldn't find fusible felt so I used a 1" strip of Heat & Bond around the edge of the felt and fused it to the back of the pressing board.
The canvas is grey and the felt is pink. They look so clean & pretty.
