Women of the Bible - starts on Sunday :)

I am looking forward to the quilt/bible study to be starting on Sunday.

It's a weekly study, every week a new woman, and a new quilt block.

There are "holiday" weeks mixed in. So the 52 women actually end up being closer to 60 weeks. I am okay with that though.

I am ready. I hope.

14 weeks of patterns printed.

6 week of blocks ready and cut.

Doing this along side the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler weekly thing already being done though this board.... we will see how it goes :) Especially with all my other projects. Haha.
Should be a fun year!

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...0&l=4365932c38 is the fabric I will be using for these Women. ... well for the 52 blocks. :)

Where are you doing this study? Is it online or where you live?
It sounds interesting and I might be interested in joining in.

That sounds delightful - mixing two great things into 1 wonderful idea. Be sure to show us your progress. Just curious is there a quilt book that goes along with this or are you each doing your own interpretation?

It is an online thing through yahoo groups.

i ordered the pattern online, it was 10$ for the PDF.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WomenoftheBibleQuilt/ is the group

there is also a complimentry book, 52 women of the bible, that I bought online at chapters.ca that you can use, or not use.

What a great combo...women of the Bible and quilting!! I would love to do this, but have designated this year as the year to finish UFOs, and the only new thing I'm allowing myself to make is whatever Judy does with her Mystery Train.
I hope you'll post your work as you go to inspire those of us interested, but not able to do it.

This looks great! I did my own women of the Bible Study a few years ago and made a quilt to go with it. I use pictorial representations instead of symbols. It consists of a 6 foot woman with all the names of the women quilted on it. Then there are other quilts chained to this. Each one has a haiku style poem to go with it. It was a big hit when displayed at the Danville Art Center. It is 14 feet across. If you'd like to take a look you can see it at my old wordpress blog. http://doloresquilts.wordpress.com/w...f-bible-quilt/

I signed up! I hope I will have the time but the title really caught me. When I first red your post I though that it had already started. Now I'm delighted it hadn't.

Oh my. I noticed that some of the blocks are quite advanced. I hope I'm up to this!
