quilting is an expensive hobby, but if that includes everything it might not be a s bad as you think at first - There are a lot of great tutorials online and there is also The Quilting School that is online classes with some big name teachers - I personnally like the classroom atmosphere, but if your back is a problem, could someone help you get your machine in - good luck

i bought a west of baltimore BOM from keepsake quilting & it cost $24.95/mo for 12 months PLUS 1 month for the corners and the backing - all together i have about $500 invested. Aghhh. And to top it all off - i only have 3 blocks finished in two years. that's my next thing to finish next year. i'm going to cut out & start another block next week while i'm on vacation.

I have done a class with one of Judy Neimyer and it was paper pieceing and included the material and I went to the quilt shop to do this and it cost me around $300.00. It was the Hawaiian Star beautiful quilt. So that is generally the going price and includes the material and CD it could be an okay cost wise if you are really wanting to do a paper piece this big. Good Luck

Seems high to me too. I made a queen size quilt and probably have close to $300 in it but that includes the batting, backing and the fee for long arm quilting it.

I think Judy Neimyer's classes seem more expensive. There was one offered here, I think it was all day for 2 days and it was about $300 plus buying the material and pattern. Too expensive for me, to many other quilt patterns out there I can do.

Judy Neimyer does spectacular quilts and I'd love to be in one of her classes, but $300.00 for an on-line course seems a little much to me.
