QuiltAssistant is free design-software that can help you to turn your photos into quilts. Rather than the traditional approach of breaking up the photo into little squares ('watercolor style') it allows you to divide the photo into pieces of arbitrary size and shape.
On completing your design, you can print templates including seam allowances.
It shows pics of things it can do at the site.
Go there and see what it can do. I found this accidently. I was just asking about doing pictures here on the forum. This is realy neat and a free program. Can't beat free!

I have been reading their manual :D It is written for the layperson, which is appreciated by me :D I am impressed with how much you can do and how easy it sounds! I like that I could use actual pictures and choose bits and pieces of the pictures to print on fabric instead of having to buy fabric for little pieces here and there. Another bonus is I can import all of this into my EQ program. Thanks again DonnaRae for posting this :D

Yiiippppeeeee!! I emailed the website, and within a couple of hours I had a reply which had links to an alternative way to install...first link worked like a dream, so if anybody else has problems installing, just email them and you get sorted out.

NOW for some fun.....I really wanted to tryout landscape quilting...this will make it so much easier.......watch this space!!!! :D :D
