Oooooh, yes. Good one, Sandra! I love the whole McCall's quilting magazine website. Several publications represented there - including QuiltersVillage. It's the first place I go for inspiration.
I'm pretty ticked off that they pulled their thousands of free quilting motifs from the Quiltmaker site, though. After years of giving them away, they have put them into books and are rolling out a CD collection, one volume at a time. The prices are reasonable, considering the number of motifs in each volume, but i liked 'em better when they was fer nuthin'. And i have to buy a big bunch just to get the ones I really want. Oh well ... that's what i get for having been too lazy to download ALL of them while they were free. I had years of time to do it.
Still, that web complex will remain a great place to go for inspiration, information, and a still-healthy collection of free stuff.
I also want to add this copy of a post from a different thread:
yes ... looked like a nice selection. AND they have some nifty free patterns that applique devotees will just love. with a very generous and clearly stated copyright allowance:Originally Posted by Catherine

Guess I'd better get busy organizing my fabric site bookmarks so they'll be easier to sift through. I think a lot of them have figured out they can benefit from all the low-to-mid-income quilters being driven out into the cold, cruel world by WalMart, Hancock's, and Joann's. It's getting a little easier to find things for under $5 per yard - including shipping. I'm still a bit chicken about it. Will the color be right? Will it be a value? (I don't mind paying $2 for fabric I know is worth only $2. It will tick me off to pay $5 for fabric I know is worth only $2.)
What the heck. it's still cheaper than a trip to Vegas ... right?
;-)
Well! that turned into 3 days worth of posts in one, now, didn't it?
s'ok! You can make up for the time you were having fun gallivanting in Fla. Thank you for the site tip...and you are right paying the right price for anything is a big factor.
Sandra, I went to enter a usable link in your post, and had the wrong one in paste. Will you please reenter it, so I can stop looking like a total fool? Thanks, I really sometimes know what I'm doing.
Boo. I believe it is a thread through the McCalls site. I am pretty sure that was the site...Patrice can verify.
http://www.quiltville.com this site lists several techniques and quilts. They are listed on the left hand side, scroll and should find.
Thanks, Sandra, I thought was a different site. Now that you have entered a usable link, my job is done lol.
We just went to Vegas to see my mom. Price of gas as it is now.......$92 one way for me. Have to wait til payday to go home. That is in July. Got lots of fabric shopping to do. Got to save that much money. Yippee!! Shopping, love it!!!! :wink:Originally Posted by PatriceJ
