I was looking into quiling as you go, this link has what looks like a fairly easy process.

I know a few different ways to do QAYG but at this site there are instructions with pictures for the same type of QAYG with sashing but you don't have to hand sew the back sashing. Good tute.
It is pretty long but good reading. I copied and pasted it and read in bed. :lol: Here it is
