Love the "crazy quilt" design in the center of ring. Really different.

Default Rings That Bind DWR Quilt

I purchased this book to make a DWR queen size quilt for my youngest daughter who is getting married late September. I liked the idea of QAYG. I decided on a border print, as noted in one of the pictures in the book. Warning for border prints: if the repeat is not really, really close together, I would not recommend doing it this way. I didn't realize when I purchased the fabric that the repeats are so far apart, that I could not have every ring the same, unless I planned to buy a ton of fabric, then have a lot of waste (or use for something else...) So - each set of four rings are alike, but all sets are not identical. I nearly went nuts at first trying to figure it out.... Thank heavens for my friend in TX who guided and advised me. I spent at least 45 hours cutting this quilt out. I matched a set of stripes in the fabric so all circles have the same stripe in the same location.

I have all of the squares made and up on the design board. I have the first two rows of blocks sewn together (in sets of four, then joined those sets).

I really like the fact it is QAYG because when I'm finished, I'm DONE. I'm not ready to post pics on the board yet, but if anyone wants to see what I'm talking about or see some of my pictures of progress, just PM me with your email address.

Boy, I sure hope my daughter likes this quilt because I feel like I have a million hours invested in it!

I've made two of the Rings that Bind quilts. I didn't have a problem making the rings, I just got bored before getting done. It makes a beautiful quilt that non quilters think how did you do that? I didn't have to tweak anything. But I didn't look that close either. LOL.
