    Ruler Work On Domestic

I found a site on you tube using rulers for quilting on domestic machine. You buy the adapter for your machine. I was very interested. The site that sells the rulers will have then stock at the end of the month. I never heard anyone on this board every doing this. For Janome owners you just got to buy the adapter for the 1600. these ruler and templates are just lilke the ones used on long arms. The site that sell the rulers sell the adapter for other machines. I think the site is Westalee.com. Sorry I can't put in a link. This very great for people who can't do free hand quilting like feathers.

I've only recently began ruler work. I learned about it on Amy's blog
    http://www.freemotionquiltingadventures.com/

and trust me, asking for the ruler foot at a dealer will only bring back a blank look It has a different name, convertible something.
I ordered mine for my Janome here http://www.boersmas.com/ ask for Mr Boersma in the repair shop. It was $18.00 and is part of a machine quilting set.

The ruler foot is a little taller and thicker than what we might think of as a normal quilting foot. Because the thin ones will ride up on the ruler, bust the needle, and put the timing out. The smaller long arm rulers work best because they are also thicker than our cutting rulers

JANOME OWNERS beware that you purchase the correct Convertible foot set that fits your machine. There is a different with the low and high shank sets.

The Ruler Foot comes in 4 different configurations and there should be one to suit your Domestic Machine. They will be available from our new partner (to be announced shortly) in 3 weeks directly from the USA

I bought the ruler foot from Sew Steady for my Husqvarna Designer Diamond. It came with two rulers. I just ordered a sampler pack of six rulers and can't wait to get them. The two that I have tried so far work really well. The ruler glides right alongside the foot and doesn't hop like a regular FMQ foot.

I tried it with my Bernina 1530 and an Omnigrid ruler. It was OK but it is difficult to move the quilt and the ruler at the same time keeping the ruler in place.
