Sad news, Death of a Quilt Shop Owner
I am not sure if this is the topic to post under, please move if necessary.
Victoria BC is lucky to have several lovely quilt shops. I heard today that Linda Rafuse, the owner of Satin Moon Quilt shop passed away on June 7th.
Linda had a wonderful shop and helped to launch the Victoria MQG, by making her classroom space available for the guild to host its early meetings. Her fabric selection was lovely and she also featured local pattern designers.
Her brother is managing the shop for now, I hope someone is able to continue to operate it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences go out to family and friends.
I was in Paducah, KY last week. And Quilter's Alley is also closing due to the passing of the owner. The husband of the woman who owned the store is closing the shop as of the end of June. He is in his 80's and no longer wants the day to day. They were really sweet. I picked up a ruler and some hand dyed embroidery thread for my mother. (Everything was 30% off.) They had quite a bit left. And the workers said they sold a ton of stuff at the April quilt show.

So sorry to hear this news. This was always my priority shop when I visit Victoria. I hope a quilter will purchase it. They have been around so long. I'm sure that the quilting and sewing community would be devastated if this shop disappeared.
