I have a 'Sparkle' Mod Podge that would give a nice sparkle finish to any fabric.
I used it on a Halloween project last year - painted black cat wooden cutout glued to a gold painted disk. The sparkle finish really brought it to life. Dries clear with irredescent sparkles.

I'm going to try this with some of the old round ornaments that have lost their shine. Also sometimes you get an ornament with a companies ad on it - oh the possibilities. Even the second hand store ....
