They sold out a few hours after posting the ad......While quantities last was on the ad. It was a what retailers call a "lost leader"....to get shoppers to the site...
I called my local Joann's and the manager said they do not give "additiona bulk discounts". The online promotion was 50% plus 10% bulk buy. Anyway, he said he would NOT HONOR IT....ONLY THE SALE PRICE IN THE STORE.
So I called Hancock. They said they have the same product, only in 20 yrd. rolls. Asked If I could get two of the rolls for the Jo'Ann website price and she said, YES! So off I went to purchase the two two rolls.....Local Joann's is going to continue to miss out on sales if they keep this up....Hancocks honors all ads for the same product. BTW in my community, the JoAnns and Hancock are in the same strip center.

Wish we still had Hancocks in our area. They closed up shop a few years ago and I miss them. JoAnns closed the store near my home and moved about 10 miles away through town and traffic...bummer!

I am with you we do not have a Hancocks and have not for years I see one when I go to North Idaho but have never stopped it is usually to early or late when we roll through going up to Sandpoint to see my DH side of the family.. In fact I got in a similar argument about the batting with Joann's within the last year and stopped for over 6 months buying from them. I occasionally go in there to buy a few things when I need something quick but generally will shop online or go to my LQS.

The only Hancocks that is worth going to is the one in Paduach,Ky not part of all of the other Hancocks in the country. We have had a couple here and there in surrounding areas and all are gone now except the one in Savannah, GA and it is the pits. Everything looks messed up regarding fabrics, just thrown on huge tables for the most part and expensive as heck. Customer service has never been good either. Haven't been in it in over a year. I seldom go to the JoAnns in Savannah and for such a large city I was told this JoAnns is only a "depot". You would expect a "depot" type store in rural America and not such a large city.

I have recently discovered a JoAnn's in Brunswick, GA (opened up earlier this year) and now that is a nice clean store, much larger than the one in Savannah and certainly has lots of variety in craft related books, fabric is nicely laid out and clean and customer service is awesome.

So now instead of my going North to Savannah I go South to Brunwick. I'm pretty much in the middle of each so going one way or another is not a big deal and distance is about the same about an hour.

I'm glad I did not procrastinate in getting this deal online like I sometimes do. Got an email yesterday that it will arrive on my doorsteps on Tuesday.
