Works!! I almost have the first section of a baby quilt basted. I couldn't find tatting thread so I'm using 3 strands of cheap embroidery floss from JoAnn's.

Part one of her video, <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhwNylePFAA>

I may have to try this sometime. Though I'd struggle to find a table top large enough for the top, though!

That's a great way to do a small quilt/wallhanging. But what about a big quilt. Would love to know how she used to do those before she started long-arming.

In the video she says you can do any size quilt that way. You just have to find boards and a table long enough. I would put two tables together end to end for a really big quilt.

You don't have to buy boards if you'e doing a baby quilt. You can use those foam noodles and pin your fabric to the noodle before you roll it up.

The reason I do big quilts on the floor is that I don't own a table or tables large enough for pinning. But, I do have some large, open floor space. But, I can try it for smaller ones.

That's the really nice part of this method, you don't have the whole quilt spread out when you're basting it. I have a regular 4 foot folding table that's narrower and it worked perfect. Even a dining room table would work for her method.

Thanks for the suggestion of using the "Noodle" instead of trim boards. Always looking to save the cost and I have several noodles on hand for grandkids to use in pool.
