Lately I have been making little projects and gifts using a few notions, scraps, and some laminated cotton - starting with a travel-size sewing kit, plus more accessories to use in the sewing room or on the go - great for retreats and quilting days. I've written up tutorials for each of them, and even made some videos. The most popular? A portable design wall I call my UFO-to-Go! How cute!! Those are great projects. I'm curious, too... was it harder to sew laminated fabric? Did the needle make a difference?

Very nice. I love the idea of the strap around the water bottle, so you can keep track of your own bottle when in a group. Going to look at the tutorials tomorrow. Take care.

This is laminated cotton fabric, not oilcloth or vinyl, and so it's pliable, you can pin it, and even press from the back, since it's cotton. I love making little things from it, and love that I don't have to finish the seams. I've used it for the items above, but have seen it used for aprons, bags, and other doo-dads. I guess a better way to describe it is that it's regular cotton fabric, with a laminated coating on the right side. I get to teach this class at Riley Blake Designs' Fabric Fest next September in Las Vegas. I can hardly wait - Nancy Ziemann, Eleanor Burns and Jennie Doan are all going to be there as well! Never heard of this laminated cotton fabric. Where do you purchase it?? Also never seen it in the stores unless it is in a special dept.
