So excited, had to share!

Well, I've been MIA from the boards for a while.. two swaps and kids will do that to you!

Anyways, I spent this weekend working with my husband on a nifty tool that I hope you guys will find useful!

What is it? A quilt binding calculator.. and not just any calculator; but one that's super easy to use, and it's even customizable! It's only a straight grain calculator, I don't quite know the math behind creating a bias binding calculator...

One of the things that I had issues with in regards to other binding calculators is that they always assumed that your binding was 44". What if you were working with a bunch of fat quarters to make a scrappy binding, or your fabric is unusually wider or unusually smaller than your standard 44" fabric?

Anyways, I've blogged about it and gave a quick overview of how it works... http://wambers-whimsies.blogspot.com...-quilters.html and there's a link on the left sidebar on my blog, but if you want to go see the calculator without looking at my blog, here's the link for it... http://www.wamber.com/quilt.php . I even have a handy chart that you can refer to so you can convert fractions into decimals, since it only will read decimals.

BTW, as far as I know, I did not lift this calculator from another one on the internet.. I got the idea from an existing calculator and decided it would be best to add more fields so the binding is customized to your fabric specifications!

Let me know what you think! :-D More calculators have been brainstormed but nothing has been made yet.
