Just saw one on the Singer site....a modern version of what my grandmother had to iron linens, curtains..would be great to iron yardage of fabric...but could not find price.....will keep searching

Sorry, should have read steam presser by singer.....looks like what I have known as a mangle.....sit down, roller steamer, memory of childhood.....
I have used one of those back in the early 50's. But only on bed sheets. I would think it would be hard the get the fabric in there perfectly straight, without it getting stretched and wonky.

i saw eleanor burns using one of those on one of her shows way back when. i noticed that she did not continue it on subsequent shows. when i was an avid machine knitter, many of the ladies in the club used them and they did a great job of blocking the knitting

I have been trying to locate an old one that still works. The Singer one when I priced it was $279.99, which I didn't want to pay. Our chapter for Quilts for Kids is what I was wanting it for, as we get donated fabric and most all of it needs ironed.
