I have used one of those back in the early 50's. But only on bed sheets. I would think it would be hard the get the fabric in there perfectly straight, without it getting stretched and wonky.

i saw eleanor burns using one of those on one of her shows way back when. i noticed that she did not continue it on subsequent shows. when i was an avid machine knitter, many of the ladies in the club used them and they did a great job of blocking the knitting

I have been trying to locate an old one that still works. The Singer one when I priced it was $279.99, which I didn't want to pay. Our chapter for Quilts for Kids is what I was wanting it for, as we get donated fabric and most all of it needs ironed.
    Happy Quilting!
