A few of us have just noticed the site, Fabric Freedom from the UK. I did a pattern I found there recently.

Lately I put together a few blue and white fabrics for my next project and today I was doing some pressing and cutting of fabrics I picked up a my local - well, originally a feed store, come hardware, come knick-knack, come quilting, come crafting store in Battle Ground, WA! The blues are beautiful, but it wasn't until today that I noticed a few of them are the Blue Danube series from Fabric Freedom! It's a good fabric and was at $7.99/yd.

I tried to search their site for that line, but didn't find it. YES, NOW I DID - IN THE ARCHIVES!! I BOUGHT MORE OF THEM THAN I THOUGHT!

So it is a good recommendation that I chose the fabrics before I even saw where it came from! A couple of other fabrics may be from them, too, but the selvedge doesn't have it on my cuts.

While checking out the FabricFreedom links in the UK http://www.fabricfreedom.co.uk,

I saw that QKO (a board member http://www.quiltingboard.com/user_pr...?usernum=17310)
was one of the very few US shops that carries FF fabrics -
actually, many of the FF lines, along with some other pretty cool stuff:

Small world.

Thanks! I'll ask where "my" shop gets theirs, too.

Thanks for the mention!

Fabric Freedom fabrics are popular in England and other parts of Europe, and in Australia, but are not widely known in the USA.

We were one of the earliest dealers for Fabric Freedom in the USA, as we started our business at about the same time that the fabrics were introduced into this country. They're all designed in England and are very high quality, with a great hand and finish. The owner has refused to lower quality in the face of increasing cotton prices and shortages of high-quality greige goods.

Fabric Freedom is one of the few manufacturers that still originates many of their designs, especially their florals, by doing hand-painted oils rather than computer-aided design. They are known for their amazingly detailed florals, and their outstanding metallic fabrics.

It's a small company with its design studios in London. The owner is involved in the entire production process, maintaining the highest quality standards, using only a few trusted engravers and printing/finishing mills. They also maintain the highest standards of business ethics, and their batiks and hand-dyes are all Fair Trade items.

We are the only online shop that we know of that is a full-line dealer for Fabric Freedom. We normally carry all of the lines that they introduce and carry all of the fabrics in each line, excepting only a few lines that we feel won't sell well over the web. We have a very good working relationship with the owner of the company, and meet with him twice a year.

The Blue Danube line is still available in limited quantities, but the Park Lane line that was also mentioned is sold out in the USA as far as we know.

QKO, thanks so much for the info! I will "bookmark" this page for your web sites!

I looked at your site, but have to tell you I can get the fabric locally for $7.99. It may be an "old" line, but that's OK for me.

Thanks again!

It's been around for awhile, so some stores are probably marking it down. We'll probably be moving it into sale status soon as well.

Thanks again for your comments!
