Thumbs up Thousands of Bolts $4.00 Shipping!

Thousands of Bolts has a Flat Rate of $4.00 shipping, for any size order, through today (ends tonight). http://www.thousandsofbolts.com/index.cfm?&redirect=yes

I just ordered 8 yards of flannel (on sale for $3.95 a yard), along with some other fabric. I'm hoping they'll go nicely together (hard to really tell, until I see them, in person) and will end up in a quilt, for my son. He won't give me any preferences ("I'll like anything"), so I've been flip-flopping around with design/colors, until I've made myself dizzy!

I thought their $4.00 shipping rate ended 7/5/14. Hmm I will need to check that again.

PS Ok I see it ends tonight 10pm EST.

Oh my you have been missing out. It is name brand fabric so you are getting the best. I buy short ends a lot from them and wide backings and batiks and they get a lot of my money.

Do they carry a good flannel? The stuff from JoAnn's just pills up as soon as it's washed. I like a better quality than that, even for charity quilts.

I bought some flannel backing fabric but haven't washed it yet to see how it pills. But I can say it is a very nice weight.

If you want to "sample" buy from them try the short cuts. They sell name brands such as Henry Glass, Windham, Stonehenge, Bernatex, Bella solids, Moda. To get to the short cuts click on Find a Fabric > Expanded search > Item number - type in SB [for sale bin]. There you will see all of the short ends and you can pick and chose what you want to try for small dollars.

I do not shop at JoAnn's for any of my fabric needs. The fabric is a lesser quality IMHO. Why waste my money. There are so many great online stores to order from and there is often a sale on one of them.

They carry many brands, so I usually choose brands with which I'm familiar. Many are LQS quality, for a fraction of the cost! There are some brands that are just average quality but I've only run into one, which disappointed me (SPX).

I've bought AE Nathan flannel from them, which was very nice. I think the other flannel, I bought from them, was Marcus Brothers(?), which was also very nice. Good weight and washed well. I just ordered some South Seas Imports flannel, today. I don't have any experience with that brand flannel but at $3.95 a yard (it's in the sale section), figure it's worth the risk (planning on using it for a quilt back).

This could have been a very expensive thread to find if it wasn't 3 minutes before the end of the $4 shipping.
