Thanks for the links. I want to make the peg board one. Been wanting one for awhile but the ones pre-made are really expensive.

What a coincidence. I found this website earlier this month and my husband & I made one of these using a 2' x 4' piece of pegboard and 1/4" dowel rods long enough for matching bobbin to sit on top of spool. There are 165 pegs for spools of thread and I still have about 1/3 of the board left that I used pegboard hooks to hang several items, including some of my longer rulers. It was easy, fun, and relatively inexpensive.

Very nice. Hubby and I got mine up today and it doesn't look nearly as well as yours does but I also don't have everything on it either. I didn't glue dowels on it as I hung a june taylor spool rack that I already have from the pegboard.I am hoping it will be easier to cover the thread from dust and light this way since I don't have that much thread.
I think he was looking lovingly at it with tools in his eyes though... lol

Wow Martha that is awesome. Do I see alot of Connecting Threads thread?

Awesome! I had hubby make me two smaller ones several yrs ago, but I thought instead of using dowels, why not buy the more expensive peg hooks! Don't know what I was thinking, but they don't work as well. Will probably convert to dowels soon. Does anyone know if the dowels will hold the large cones comfortably?
I use the second one for my cutters, scissors, and small rulers and mats that don't fit in the holders and will hang up!
