    yarn sale

For everyone on Long Island, NY as I am, I just got a post card in the mail that Granny's Yarn Shop on Main St. in Islip is closing. All yarn, needles and books are 50% off. The sale begins today (2-14-13). 465 Main St., Islip.

Oh my gosh! I can't believe she is closing. I haven't been able to pick up my mail yet (the postman can't get to my mailbox) so I may have a card in there. Do you know why she is closing? Just retiring?

There is no reason given for the store closing, just a thank you for the last 25 years.

I got my card today. I can understand it. When I started going there she was up in age and that has been 12 years or so that I've been living here. Granny's was the first yarn shop I went to when I came to Long Island. I may stop by. I really don't need anything but it might be nice to say good-bye. When I was feeling homesick I would treat myself to a trip to Starbucks, a stop at Granny's and a little pop in to Sew What's New.
