That's one of the ways I make my Flying Geese - so simple. And it allows you to gently fold back the edge and stitch to make it look curved.

One Seam Flying Geese Block
English Method

Cut
1 3 x 5 ½ inch strip – will be the geese
2 3 inch squares – will be the sky

This will make one 4 ½ inch x 2 ½ inch finished flying geese unit.

Fold strip in half wrong sides together.

Put folded strip on top of one (right side up) square matching raw edges of folded strip to the top and left raw edge of square. Fold should be facing bottom with a ¼ inch space from folded edge to bottom of square.

Place second square (wrong side up) on top of the folded strip matching raw edges to first square making a sandwich with the folded strip in the middle.

Sew ¼ inch seam down the right side of all layers. There should be a ¼ inch section at bottom with only the two square fabrics in seam.

Open the sandwich and fold out the strip to form the geese section.

Oh my gosh! Couldn't be any easier. I haven't tried flying geese before and have issues with triangles LOL. I think even I could handle THIS method! Thanks for sharing.
