I looked all over town for some new coats and clark hand quilting thread, found it and its not the same quality as my old thread. So I found Singer fusion at the local grocery store, and its a good replacement. At the grocery store no less. So I put up my frame and have been busy all weekend!

I found the CC hand-quilting thread freyed on me, even after using a new needle-some has been fine, but the last spool I used freyed. Luckily I had another spool in a very close color (it was only off-white). I have had good luck with Guitterman's so far.

Was the c& c thread the new version? The way its wrapped is not the best. Hancocks has mettler, but no Guttermans. I will look for it. I love hand quilting and am enjoying working on the old quilt I have in my floor frame. I looked online at joanns and they carry singer but on an old style spool and coats and clarks is also part of the desrciption. Weird!

CC is a polyester thread - and I also can't stand it!!

If you like to hand quilt - find some YLI or order yourself a spool of YLI. You'll love it.

I am using the Gutterman and it's OK, but still like the YLI better. AND, YLI is cheaper :)

YLI is a brand name. The handquilting thread is excellent.

I didn't know what YLI is either, so I did a search.

I love Americana Star but my bff loves the connecting threads brand. Essential Cotton. I use that in my machines and love it, haven't tried it for hand quilting.
