I recently saw a quilt and the lady said she started with an 8 in square then added a 2 in border to all 4 sides. Then cut in half twice to make 4 squares and arranged however she wanted. I would like to see if I can find more ideas and photos of this. Does anyone know what this may be called?
Thanks, Terry

It almost sounds like a disappearing 9 patch but doesn't start as a 9 patch. Sounds fascinating.

Sounds a bit like Bento Box. Should be neat.

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida.
I see someone has already found the pic of the Bento Box quilt!

That may be it, not sure though. This one just had the square in the middle and 1 log around it. I will have to make a block and show it on here.

I am just getting back to quilting. Sort of a beginner here. I am 55 and my husband just passed away about a year ago and I have not done any sewing since then. Decided I needed to start on some new projects to fill the void in my life.

How sad. I'm sorry you have to deal with such aweful heartache. I think if you start hanging out here, you will make new friends and get back into a wonderful craft.

The Bento Box uses multiple rows but I believe it works the same with just one row.
