I pay $.99 for precut FQ's at the primary place I shop and $2.00 at the other.
At the primary place I shop, I frequently buy 1/2 yard cuts of individual fabrics and they cut them in half for me. Depending on the price of the fabric, in this case, I pay from $.75 to $1.25 for these FQ's. Sometimes I add the second FQ to my stash or put it in by SP inventory. They kid me when I ask them to make this cut, but they never object to doing it.
This store also has layaway for fabric. So, when they get a new shipment in, I go shopping and have my fabric cut into two separate stacks -- one to go and one to layaway. This way I can purchase larger cuts of new fabrics and don't worry about the it selling out quickly. They also have great flat-folds for $1.50 a yard. The other store has flat-folds for $3 a yard (including a selection of batiks).
