Thread: 1/2" Scant?

I feel silly asking this but, I have wondered about this for along time. Is 1/2" scant less than 1/2" seam allowance? If so how much less?

Only a couple threads, enough so that when its pressed out, the seam doesn't change the intended size of the block.

There is no such thing as silly.....not long ago i didn't know what a scant was either.

it actualy sorta measures out to being about 3/8 or a 7/32 inch seam.
