Default 1/8" Shy on Jelly Roll Cut

I purchased a jelly roll of Moda fabrics. While the strips are supposed to be 2 1/4 wide, in actuality they are only 2 3/8 inches wide. Over the course of a pattern designed for a jelly roll, this is a huge problem. I have been pinning and scrunching and fudging to make this work since I've already invested $ and time.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

Also, can the savings of shorting a cut 1/8" be worth the profit as opposed to making a customer happy?

*Sigh* While I love the collection of coordinated fabrics, I may never purchase another one with the Moda name.

Jelly rolls are supposed to be 2 1/2" wide.

Are you measuring between the peaks or the valleys of the pinked edges?

Good point! Pick either the peaks or the valley but don't use a peak on one side and a valley on the other side

My mistake (and bad typing). I meant 2 1/2. And I am measuring from the peaks.

I see a lot of mentions of this problem. Has anyone written a complaint to Moda or returned the fabric to the shop? You'd think Moda would have good customer service.

Thanks for the link. That is an interesting way to deal with the issue.

As a former employee at my LQS we have had layer cakes, and charms returned (don't think any jelly rolls). The company (Moda) honored the request for replacement by the QS owner. I'd take them back to where you purchased them.
