Default 2 color quilt?

I have 2 fabrics in blues for a quilt that needs to be blue. The fabrics look great together - and can't seem to find any thing else to go with them. I have been to several stores and no luck. I can add white or a solid blue. What pattern would work for such few colors?

If you have good contrast in your two blues ... an Irish Chain would be a perfect and you wouldn't have to look for more fabric. Or if you need to buy more fabric, then a Double or Triple Irish Chain with other white/blue fabrics added.

Take a swatch of both to a large fabric store. It can be vacation or a shopping opportunity. As long as the blues are in the same color, you can add 2 or 3. Some won't work such as using a teal or turquoise with plain blue and white. It must be in the same color family. Two colors will work, but y9ou really will like working with more. It gives so much more depth. You might try trading some with your friends or quilting buddies. A lot of quilting fun is, shopping for fabric and enjoying all the colors. The longer you do it, the more fun it gets.

There are so many patterns to choose from that uses three fabrics. I did a Double Irish chain in blues and a nice creamy white print that was pretty. Also, there is Jacob's ladder that would look nice in blue. My favorite is the Drunkard path. there are about 80 variations of this pattern and all are beautiful. Just takes 2 colors and if you wanted a third, you could use it in a border or blocks inbetween.

I've made 2 Hunter's Star quilts in 2 colors, they look great.

Penny Halgren offers some ideas for two-color quilts: http://www.quiltqua.com/articles/two...-quilt-blocks/
Here's a different blog post about two-color quilts: http://finnleah.blogspot.com/2007/03...or-quilts.html

That's what I was going to suggest.

I am currently working on a Hunter's Star quilt. That block lends itself to two colors very nicely.
