Default 2013 UFO Therapy Thread - Sister Thread to 2013 UFO Challenge of the Month

Hi and welcome to the 2013 UFO Therapy Thread! The what???

Annually, a group of us band together to accept the challenge of finishing 1 UFO (Unfinished Object) per month.

Don't have a UFO? Then maybe you have a WIP (Work in Progress) or a PIG (Project in a Bag). They go by many names, they hide in dark spaces and MULTIPLY!

Please accept the 2013 challenge and post those finishes here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/quiltin...h-t209986.html

Take credit for your work and let us all ooooh and ahhhh and of course ring the "job well done" bell!

Some of us may need some help along the way. Let's work through it together.

Can't decide on a layout? Post it here!

Don't know which borders to use? Post it here!

Have an amazing WIP that you are dying to share? Post it here!

Can't stand a project and just want to trade or give it away? Post it here!

This is our work group to get the lead out and get those finishes for 2013.

Why a separate thread? The main thread's focus has typically been on finished products. We can trial this separate thread to focus on getting to finished products, but of course, we all reserve the right to finish those UFOs by any means necessary!

Now let's get out there and share what we are working on and get 'em done.

Ok, I'll go first.

Hi. I'm Fraew and I am addicted to starting quilt projects. Finishing, not so much. I have at least 20 UFOs (I define mine as a project that I have cut and pieced and have left it to age for a bit). I was introduced to QB swapping last year and SWAPPED 'til I dropped...the whole year! I wouldn't dare call my swaps UFOs because I would start to get heart palpitations!

For the month of January, I plan to work on this (Star Flower Wreath, pattern by Chickadee Charms Designs). The binding is cut and ready to put on, but alas, I have been distracted. Some of you may recognize this one. I posted it on the 2012 UFO Challenge thread last summer when I sent it off to be quilted. Charisma did an amazing job with this one...just haven't "finished" it yet.

Don't tell anyone that I took credit for it in 2012 though. Shhhhh

Hi,
I'm lots2do and I have UFOs too. Most of them are small ones started in classes where I forgot them once I left the workshop. Don't dare count them, just plan on continuing to discover them in bags and bins as I go. Right now I'm working on one of my younger WIPs - a set of four seashell placemats I started in February or March last year, I think. I am plugging away at them and may be finished by two weekends from now. Will post a picture another time.

Love this idea!! Do I have to confess my UFO's,WIP's and PIG's? 18 UFO's, 2 or 3 or so WIP's, 29 PIG's?? I think.

I have a couple of horrible tops that I made when I first started. I don't like anything about them, and they mock me ;-) I might take advantage of this thread for getting rid of them, otherwise I'm going after them with a rotary cutter.

I'll join the challenge again. Thanks for starting it up.

Hi
I am Pink Lady And I love to start things. This year my new year resolution is to finish my some of my UFO's. I have no clue how many UFO's I have. Tomorrow I am starting to paint my new sewing room and as I put things into it I will count and organize my UFO's. I thinking I am right with you Fraew and have least 20 most likely more. However this year I am turning over a new leaf and getting a bunch of them done. Hope you all will help keep me on track

Well, I am wildyard aka Linda and I am in my 3rd year of quilting so I don't have so many as some of you. My problem is I love planning, designing and piecing but the actual quilting process is painful for me and takes me too long. I do it all on machine, but have to take frequent breaks due to shoulder and neck muscle spasms. It's manhandling the layered quilt that gives me the most trouble. Once the quilting is done, I'm good with machine binding! Doing it I mean, not good at it. LOL
So my inclination is to have tops that need layering and quilting.
Yesterday I finished the quilting and trimmed the edges of my Scrambled D9P for my DGS. I finished the top last spring. Tomorrow I will do the binding and it will be .... tadaaaaaaa.... done!! I have posted the photo here on QB before I think under the name Seasonal Greens. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t195659-9.html

Hi all... I'm Deb and I have a large UFO Collection which started with 94 members as of 10/1/12 and is now hovering at 77. My goal is to finish a UFO a week in 2013.

The majority of them are lap size or smaller and about 70% are tops that will be donated to Project Linus. I was really intimidated by sandwiching, quilting and binding so I kept doing what I loved - piecing! After finishing 17 UFOs this fall I don't think I'll ever love sandwiching but I'm really comfortable with straight line/walking foot quilting and either machine or hand binding. My other 2013 goal is learn how to FMQ. I'm taking a few Craftsy classes and will be practicing on some of my Linus tops.

wildyard, I feel your pain. I have many UFOs but the one that I worked on this week is a Christmas project started in 2012. A QB friend of mine gifted me with a dozen gorgeous 10-minute blocks made with Christmas fabrics. I assembled it and that is as far as it got. After Christmas, I made the sandwich and there it sat until I decided to git 'er dun before I begin any other project (of which there are many I'd love to do). This was the perfect time. We have had rain, rain, rain. All that is left is the binding. Had to stop to rest my back and shoulders. Tomorrow will be another rainy day. So perhaps...........
