Has anyone done this..would you be willing to offer a little qui dance? I want. To make the pinwheel one and can't figure out the layering and cutting of this. Maybe I'm just making it too hard!

I saw pattern on Connecting Threads if that's what you're talking about.
You probably are. Their instructions are usually very clear. Maybe try using some scrap fabric?? Here is the post of the book:
