I have 5 different patterns of peace signs each at 2 yards how many 5" charms would I get out of 10 yards. Granddaughter likes peace signs I thought about cutting them into jelly rolls. Need your advise thank you so much in advance. Monie

Just last week one of the board members posted a chart about that and i printed it out. It says on the chart you get 56 5" squares out of the yard based on 40" width of fabric. Hope i am reading the chart right.
How wide is the fabric?
width / 5 = A
(10*36)/5 = 72
A * 72 = charms
I have to agree with charming 56 per yard or 112 for two yards.
I see 8 across because you have to trim selvages and 8*5"=40". 7 down because 5"*7=35". You can make it if your fabric is cut straight.
8 times 7 equals 56 five inch squares.
yes, 56 per yard is right! 8 across x 7 down = 56/yard
Ah. To those who said they would never do this math again in their life. It always seems to rear its ugly head.
