Default 9 by 1 1/2 inch strips

Just got a 'bunch' of strips cut from Christmas fabrics. A friend found them while cleaning her quilting room. She thinks she cut them for a table topper or runner, but she can't remember. Any ideas what I can use them for?
Thanks.

Here are a couple of ideas if you have enough strips.

Piano-key borders
Braids

Sounds like a braid quilt in the making.

That size is exactly what you need for the strips in these blocks! Add some 6 inch squares, and you're set to go.

Sounds like they're from a Christmas Table runner. It starts with a large square (9.5" would work), with french braids on the corners (like the ones in the photo on the left from Jan). With an accent square at the points, instead of overlapping like the photo above.

They could be used in candle mats or mug rugs. :-)

Log cabin blocks to make some table runners.

Thank you all so much. So many ideas, so little time, but I've never made a braided anything. I think I'll try that table runner.
