I found a really cute pattern - a while back - I think it was on the moda site for a tree skirt. The quilt was made using (and I quote: a 25 inc - 9 degree circle wedge ruler.

Has anyone heard of such an animal??

Am I going to need to learn to paper-piece to do this??

Any idea where to find one?? my LQS lady just looked at me . . and she has been around for more than 25 years.

Cheryl Phillips (phillipfiberart.com) has many patterns that use the 9 and 10 degree rulers. I made the butterfly. I think i got the 9 degree ruler at a yard sale and i didn't even know what it was.

if you already have a 9 degree ruler, but shorter, you can extend it by laying a longer ruler next to it. then cut on that line.

I have a lot of LQS's in my area, but none carried the 9° wedge ruler. I had to order mine online.

I have the Marilyn Doheny version and love it. I think there's an advantage to getting the 25" version, depending on what your making. The quilt I made with it required you to flip the ruler after each cut, so that's much easier with the 25" version.

I couldn't find the 9 deg ruler in my area..and didn't want to spend $30.00 to order one so I took my Dresden Plate ruler which is 18 degrees, traced it on paper w/out seam allow, folded in half and added back seam allowances...used ruler to lengthen and traced onto cardboard. price..$0.00
