I took one of my Featherweights to shop for my repairman to look at it. The thread kept breaking every 6-8" & I couldn't figure this one out. So he took it, cleaned it all up, worked on it & only charged me $15. Mind you I live in a little town so machine repairs are not what they are in the big city. He talked about machines with me for awhile & said I got a gem of a machine for $50. My husband found this Featherweight at a yard sale for $50. I can't wait to sew on it! Now I have him looking for a Juki or any other dependable 'long neck' machine to do quilting on. I know he will find one! Can't wait!

Awesome deal on your Featherweight...I love mine...first one I had when I was 13 ... I am now 63 and after several types of "fancy" machines in between the years I went back to the Featherweight... I use my Featherweight for piecing and then applique and quilt by hand. Hooray for Featherweights!

A good local sewing machine repair person is an awesome thing isn't it? We have one in this area also. Ours loves the older machines, and is always very kind with me when pointing out the stupid thing I've done that caused my machine to go wacky.
