I am new to quilting and do not know what several of the abbrevations mean. Some of them that are obvious I have figured out -- others not sure. Any site I should go on for help?
    Thanks

FQ = fat quarter HST = half square triangles LQS = local quilt shop There ar so many that sometimes you just have to ask what they mean. I don't know of a list anywhere. I know that doesn't help much. Sorry.

This could be funny to my European friends. I could not figure out what a LQ was. Seems it is a "long quarter." In other words, a quarter yard of fabric. I also wondered what "wadding" (batting) was. Great patterns, but I had to "translate" before starting the project.

I just googled "quilting abbreviations" and came up with several sites. But you are right . . . it's a whole 'nuther lingo." Hope you enjoy quilting!!

Thanks everyone. I guess it is a new language. I will keep trying to figure it out.
