Fabric.com always has free shipping if you spend $35 and there is always something I could use to add up to $35 I feel paying for shipping is such a waste of money.

I spend anywhere from $9 to $15 for gas to shop outside of my little town... so I factor that in when shopping online/shipping charges or choosing to go and buy it in person.
If I am close to the $35...and I can get an extra yard+ of material instead of paying for shipping? I will take that extra yard(s) but I do check first, to see what the shipping fee is going to be.
Ofcourse, the shops know this...an extra yard(s) here and there can really add up for them in the course of a year...
A twin/lap sized quilt can easily come to $35, even with sale priced fabrics when you include batting...
