I just bought the 6 1/2 inch die cut. When I used it today I found that it does not cut the fabric. It leaves part of the fabric uncut, even with just one layer. It works fine with my other die cut. Is there anything I can do, other than return it.

Maybe try with a thin shim.

put paper between the fabric and the die. Sometimes the static is the problem.

Wouldn't the paper dull the die even more?

It may not be a dull die, it may be the static on the die.

Try a new cutting pad. An old pad will cause skips. If this doesn't work, then I would return it. It's not dull, the blades are not set at the correct height, so there are places the blade is not making contact with the pad.
