I got the Accuquilt Go BABY since I, too, mainly want to cut strips and squares. Think I found it on line at under $100 and then Jo-Ann has it occasionally for pretty good sale price. I bought two additional dies - the strip die and the 5" square die - so that is all I want to do at the moment ---but they do have additional dies that work with the BABY one.

Did you know if the Die says Accuquilt on the JoAnn website you can't use the coupon for % off but if it just says Go you can use the coupon. Silly but true as of last month anyway. I got the Ohio Star die for Go for 60% off using the coupon. Walmart website has all brands of dies many get discounted all the time. I put the dies I want on my wish list and when the item goes down in price I get a notification. I got the Alphabet die for 50% off at Walmart website on a sale that lasted for only two days. Accuquilt group on their Facebook page lists instantly when a die sale is happening somewhere. I pay for internet so I use it to save money not just to read boards and watch video. LOL
I guess you can tell by my post I'm an Accuquilt fan.

This is a very interesting and informative discussion. Thanks! I have the Accuquilt Go and love it. I bought just the basic package when it was on sale, then added to my dies whenever they were on sale. I really love the strip cutters.

I have the Vagabond and really like it. I use it like you say you want to for strips mostly. It's compact and electric. I love that it folds up and fits in my small space. The biggest drawback is it only fits the 6" dies but it works for what I want. I got it when I injured my shoulder and couldn't cut with the rotary. It kept me quilting when I would have otherwise had to stop. Cutting is one of my least favorite parts of quilting so it makes that part fun for me.
