I'm planning a trip to Portage-Kalamazoo area today. I will go to Fields Fabric near the airport while DH goes to the Air Zoo. I understand there is also a quilt shop nearby that I'm going to try to find. Maybe I'll stop in Schoolcraft at Big Island Quilting.

I've never been to any of these shops. I'll probably wear a bright blue jogging suit, a white T shirt with a beaded neckline.
So if you see me there, please say hi.

I haven't been to Field's in about 15 years, but I used to shop there regularly. Loved it!! Have a great time...I miss K'zoo. :(

I live in the Portage area and go to Field's all the time. What a great store. Sorry, but Big Island Quilts has closed. I just got back from Shipshewana this afternoon - my favorite place for fabric shopping! Lolly's and Yoder's ROCK!

You got it! Rack after rack, double stacked. Taking up all the floor space and along the walls. Decent prices. Just an amazing variety of name brand fabrics. There is more than one Fields also and last spring we went to Michigan for the weekend and I visited 4 of them!!!
