Add more quilting??
I know its hard to see on the front but it shows better on the back. I haven't done the border yet I will carry out the wonky squares only smaller.
Should I add another square in the center of the large one and maybe do straight quilting down the centers of the sashings?

what does your batting packaging say about how far apart to quilt it? that should help you a bit. yes, you could add another square in the large square. do it on point within that square which would be "on Point" or diamond like.
you could go down the sashings with curves instead of a straight line. good luck.

I love your quilt....its beautiful just the way that it is! I don't think that it needs more quilting, but that is a personal choice. I love the old traditional quilts that were quilted to be fuctional, not overly quilted. Congrats on a beautiful job!

Well the batting says 2 to 4 inches so for the most part I am covered but it does mean another square inside the big one.
Does your quilts tell you what they want? Well I tried circles , diamonds , cross hatching and curves and nothing looked right to me until the squares. With these old blocks sometimes I wonder if it isn't the original maker whispering in my ear.
