I purchased some beautiful black and cream fabric (including a toile print) at the Mid-Atlantic show. Does anyone have a suggestion for a quilt pattern that would showcase the toile print?

Jackie,
I have seen this combination put together before, at a quilt shop. They also had the pattern for it. I am sorry that I can't explain it really well, but hopefully someone here can. It's going to be very lovely, I just know it.
Good Luck!! :D

I've been told that the Hunter's Star Quilt I made in two colors, (Teal Green and Bright Teal) is the most attractive of all the quilts I've made. So, I'd suggest either the Hunter's Star or Hearts & Gizzards as was suggested. Other two color blocks include Wrench, the many variations of Drunkard's Path, Churn Dash, Anvil, Maple Leaf, Arkansas Maple Leaf and Indiana Puzzle. Have Fun.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have made a Hunter's Star quilt and it is a very versatile pattern. I will investigate the other squares, too!

i would do a star block. the toile center square and the points one color and the background another. you could even do every other block the different color since you have lots of nice fabrics. sounds lovely.

Hi Rachel, I thought I had a photo of my Hunter's Star on my computer, but, alas, I don't. However, the Hunter's Star quilt I made was from a Jackie Robinson class and when I finished it, Ms. Robinson put it on her web site. So, you can go to www.animasquilts.com; click on Scrapbook; then on Assorted Patterns; finally go to page 4, and there is my quilt in two shades of Teal. If you would like to see the quilt in a better setting, let me know and I'll take a photo when it's on the bed. Valerie

I have a pattern that is done in black and whites and a toile. It is very similar to a single irish chain or a double nine patch. The toile is in the larger squares and the black and white the smaller squares.
