    I would suggest you go over to youtube and look at all the different ways to do "quilt as you go". I am sure you will find a method that will work for you. The following vdeo shows the method that I have been using, but I may later try some of the other methods, but this one works well for me so far. Right now I am working on a HUGE (110"-112" bedspread)quilt that I am doing in large sections, so I will know if the same method works with larger secions. I would add that I do glue baste the two sections I am working on, so nothing moves when I am trying to sew them together....

    I agree with Dunster! Why not just cross hatch the two layers, sewing each row in the opposite direction to keep from distorting the fabric and getting it skewed sideways. I made a "2" layer summer quilt and I machine embroidered butterflies randomly to hold the top and bottom together. Good luck.
