How long has a fabric on your shelf sat? I have fabrics that are at least 2 years old sitting there waiting to get used for a project.

Mom's been gone 7 yrs, she'd had some that I inherited for a long time, then there's the feed sacks that date back to the 50's..... Some of mine's pretty old. If you can take it by opposite corners, give it a tug and it doesn't shred or get an edge, pull and it doesn't rip easily it's okay to use.

I have pieces of some of my original quilting fabric purchases left....from 30 years ago. And there are other pieces that are vintage fabrics such as 40s-50s bark cloth for bags and clothing. They are behind closet doors away from sun and dust and will last longer than I will, I'm sure!

At least 35 years and I'm afraid to use it because it may fall apart!

I have 9 yards of authentic 1930 fabric sitting in a dark drawer. That's my oldest!
