Default It all makes sense!!

I'm making a quilt for my sister and decided I would measure my sewing foot and I discovered it wasn't a quarter in foot! I thought all along that it was. Now I understand why my other patterns never worked out! So I taped up my sewing machine to mark a quarter in and it's making my life so much easier!
Now I know another thing to add to my Christmas list!

I had the same problem and ended up doing the same thing. Makes a huge difference!

Same thing happened to me. My guide on the plate is marked at 1/8 intervals. So I assumed what was marked as 2/8 was actually 1/4". Found out that it is actually 3/8 when I finally got around to measuring it earlier this week. I put a piece of masking tape there so I don't forget. Now I know why my Christmas wallhanging that I won't be finishing till next year...because of the problems of not have 1/4" seams...was a pain in the butt.

I'm glad you figured it out. It took me a long time to figure out what I was doing wrong with some of my projects, it wasn't me, it was my foot.

I found out by taking my first class that I was sewing with my fabric inside the from the foot to the bed lol. Instead of on the outside of the foot. Heck I taught myself how to sew. What wonder nothing ever matched up
