Default To all you quilted bag makers

I am returning back to my home in Poland soon and want to return with the necessities for making quilted bags. In general, what specialty items do you use to make them (I'm thinking of types of batting, etc.)...

I only have poly batting available over there.

What would you suggest I buy to take back "home" with me?

Perhaps fusible fleece, fusible interfacings, pretty buttons, colorful zippers, magnetic closures, threads or embroidery floss?

I have patterns, but I was wondering about the fusible fleece, etc. I can't get that there. Can you get it at Walmart or do I need to head to Joann's to get it. Or maybe the local quilt shop?

I don't particularly like the fusible, so I use a spray adhesive like 505...Right now I am making 6 for graduatioon gifts, and am out of the spray, so just pinning it to hold it still while I machione quilt..I just bought a new pattern I really like..It is a simplicity and has a few bag styles.,.Haven't looked at the particulars yet..waiting to complete the ones in process....Good luck....(Get to Joannes before you return,,patterns are $1.00)

I buy Pellon heavyweight fusible fleece...973f....and buy it at Walmart for $5/yd....it is the easiest to work with and gives you flexibility in your quilting....you won't have to quilt close together to get the stability needed.....I've used regular batting, but didn't like it near as well....I would also get magnetic closures as my family seems to prefer them over button/loop closures.

If you plan to use colorful zippers, gromets or magnetic snaps or fancy buttons you may want to pick them up.

Thanks for the great ideas. I picked up some fusible fleece, but walmart only had lightweight kind. I hope it is good enough. But I need to check on the magnetic closures! Thanks so much for all your advice. I think I would prefer magnetic closures.
