No, I do that all the time, during cold season, I wear socks. I have always done this, I can actually feel the pressure I apply when barefooted.

You are not alone. I often work with one shoe on and one shoe off working the pedal. It just seems like I have better fine control when I can feel the pedal under my foot, with my foot. I do just wear thin socks sometimes to ward off frost bite but a little heater blowing on my feet lets me keep to the bare foot style of quilting.

No you're not ! I'm with ya, barefoot in warm weather ... wear socks in the winter !
