then adopt me. I love anything handmade and truly appreciate the hard work put into it.

That said- my dil made me a bow tucks purse. I LOVE it!

Don't feel unappreciated- they will come around.

I found that out this summer. I made bow tuck purses for DIL and DGDs (18 and 20) and no one thought much of them. My old lady, like me, friends love them. Live and learn.

I have been through that before. I feel for you. I am more particular now who I give my hand made things to.

Some just don't get it - they think only store bought will do
So sorry you got the response - truly tacky

Sorry, you efforts went unappreciated.

What happened to manners. Even if someone gives me something that is not spot on to my likings, I am always thankful. If it is handmade even more so.

I am so sorry that your family reacted to all your hard work like that - it must be so upsetting - keep your chin up.

It almost sounds like they didn't even know you made them as opposed to *store-bought*. Whatever :-( Tell them how you feel. Let them know you thought about each person with love as you made their purse for them. Let them know that if they really don't like them you'll be glad to take them back to give to someone else. Ask them how they feel about your handmade gifts. If they honestly don't appreciate the gifts, it saves you worrying about trying so hard to please them.

While I wish I could please all my relatives with my art, I have found certain people don't take care of these treasures. Quilts torn to shreds by their dogs, stored in boxes under their home in the dirt becoming homes for rats and cockroaches. Yuk! (Hawaii 8-))

So yes! I'd rather save my *homemade* stuff for people who know what they're getting. With this attitude in mind I have no problems telling people if they don't want it or like it? Give it back thankyou.

I think people who don't make things , don't always appreciate them. I never give my projects to anyone who has not said they would like one or they just act like they really like something I have done. It saves my feelings and wasting my time and creativity and helps them not to receive a useless gift.

I am so sorry to hear that. Some people just don't know how to be gracious and accept a homemade gift. Those are my favorites to get.
