My grandaughter has been saving up for a serger. She's 18 and is very focused on developing a career in fashion. She has been doing her homework, and settled on a $200 Brother serger, and was going to buy it this weekend.

Today I got her a BabyLock Imagine serger that is selling used on the internet for $500-600. I found it on Craigslist for.......get ready..............................$90. All there, in the box, all feet, etc.

I couldn't get the money out of my purse fast enough.

WHEW!!!! She will be bowing down to GrandmaJan, the blessed SUPER DEAL FInding Queen of DEALS!!! LOL LOL

That's amazing... did they say WHY they were selling it????
Did you tell dgd about your find?
Did you try it out to make sure it worked properly?
Yeah, I'm full of questions but I don't want you to get stuck with a lemon.

The lady was an older Hispanic lady who barely spoke English...her granddaughter (teen) speaks English and she did all the talking. She said someone else had come to see it, and I was amazed that she didn't buy it. The lady didn't say why....and I didn't ask too many questions. She showed me it works. I just took it as a gift from God, and ran...I repeat RAN to my car.

I called my grandaughter on her cell phone, and she was just so excited. She will come over tomorrow to see it.....BTW, I told her she has to pay me the $90 and to clean my house, too!! I'm not letting her off too easy.

You are THE BOMB! I have the imagine and LOVE the easy threading! It is great the granddaughter is so focused now. She is so lucky to have the support, especially from you!

Was this a deceased etate or something? I can't imagine anyone parting with one, let alone for that sort of price! My Babylock was $3000.00 - couldn't afford it until I retired.

I know people that have had difficulty threading their serger and would rather get rid of it than mess with it. I try to never let mine become unthreaded because it is difficult sometimes. Also some people who buy don't understand exactly what a serger does and are disappointed because it doesn't sew like a regular machine. Whatever the reason, you got a fabulous deal, good job!
