www.fatcatpatterns.com has some angel blocks. They are listed under blocks of the month. Only 1 you get for free is the current month's block but you could print it out, and make some changes to the pattern yourself so each angel would have a little more personality of its own. There is also an angel wing pattern available right now and I think it is free too.

Boy do I have my hands full! I have a quilt to finish by my niece's birthday on 10/23 (did I mention I haven't started it yet?), a rag quilt to complete for my nephew for Christmas, and both of my sisters have told me they want a quilt for their birthdays! My oldest sister's birthday is in March, and she LOVES angels. She collects them, and I think it would be safe to say that she has over 100 of them. So I thought I'd like to make her an angel quilt. Unfortunately, all of the patterns I've been able to find online are for table runners or wall hangings. I haven't been able to find anything for making actual bed quilts. Can anyone out there help me please? :::::using the ol' puppy dog eyes treatment:::::

Like you, I have searched for a LONG time to find an angel quilt that I liked and found one on display at a LQS so bought the book ($27.50) as I recall. I bought batiks for it. It is applique, but looks easier than most. I will dig it out tonite and forward a PM.

Diannia, I'd be happy to go through my stash and send you fabrics with a tactile quality to help you have more variety to the parts of each angel --no charge for fabrics or postage. No doubt others on the board would like to do the same. The only thing required from you would be where to send the package to.

I have some small pieces from a woman who did bridal work. Lace, velvet, all sorts of goodies. I'd donate some too!

http://www.laurietignerdesigns.com/s...rns/Angels.htm Laurie has beautiful applique angel patterns. I have the summer angel wall hanging which is done using a fusible, raw-edge applique technique. Each one of her four-seasons angel patterns ($30 each) are approximately 16 x 40" and with sashing and borders would make a beautiful quilt. This pattern uses Hoffman of CA 1895 batiks.

Don't forget to look now in the LQS for specialty fabric. Several years ago I found angels playing trumpets, lyres, etc. I made and sold and bartered several vests. Many folks loved them. Maybe a lovely piece of whole fabric with strips sewn across it as if you had cut it into squareed might work.

I would have a tough time choosing between angle babies and fatcatpatterns. They are both so cute!
