Default Animal shaped flannel floor quilt- HELP

Help I know I have seen pictures on here. I have no idea what it's real "name" is so am having a hard time finding a pattern.

I am looking for a quilt made in the shape of an animal. I've mostly seen turtles but other shapes too. It's made out of flannel usually with ratty edges.

My neice saw one that was basically a circle with a peace sign on it and was really hoping I could make one for her birthday. I was hoping I could find a tutorial on making one or a pattern for the turtle I could make sans legs and head.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

I think Simplicity had a pattern with a teddy years back, I'll search to see if I can find something like that.

Simplicity or McCalls can't remember which. I have at least 3 different patterns, too lazy to go look through my patterns but I picked them up at Hobby Lobby when they were 99 cents. I've also been too lazy to make one yet.

Why not draft a circle the size you like and raw edge the peace sign to it? You could layer a backing, batting & top & stitch 1/2" all around the outside edge. Do the same with the peace sign but when doing the 1/2" you would also be appliquéing it to the quilt. Once that's finished go back in & quilt a grid or circles that would be needed for the type of batt you use. Clip all the outer edges & wash so that it "rags". Here's a colouring page for a peace sign. http://www.coloringcastle.com/pdfs/misc/peace_sign.pdf

ok, I got off my but and went through my patterns. Simplicity 4993 (cat, dog and bear) 2493 ( turtle, caterpillar and dinosaurs) 2935 (butterfly, owl and circle). Both Simplicity and Mccalls has some cute quilt patterns and I picked up a bunch when they were on sale, Hobby Lobby has one or the other 99cents every couple of months. Hancocks and Joanne's also run pattern specials sometimes. Now to put them to use.

Maybe you could adapt this. Be cute if you could find some fabric printed with peace signs. http://www.flickr.com/photos/24842261@N05/4518731179/

I am trying to buy Simplicity 4993. Would you want to sell your pattern? Want to make the dog for my grandson. Can find it on Ebay but the price is incredible for new. Thanks

I copied a pattern from McCalls I think for a butterfly rag floor quilt an inchworm blanket. I won on a silent auction a panda rag blanket that was black & white fleece, and I think it might have been Mc Calls, too.
