I came across this today, it is a fabric folding pen. It is supposed to make fabric folding easier for fabric origami, patchwork, and I am thinking appliquing. It just may find it's way home to my house for an origami quilt I am planning :D

Ok, I could not stand not knowing more about it so I emailed Clover :lol: This is their reply to what exactly is this product, how does it work, how would it help me in regards to making origami quilt blocks

I have attached the directions and the back of the package for you to have a better understanding of the fabric folding pen. I really do hope this helps and can answer your questions.
1) This is not a Glue Pen
2) You mix solution with water. Draw lines as desired and rub with fingertips.
3) It would help you with folding.
4) Yes it washes out, just avoid using spot sensitive fabrics.

If it isn't a glue, then it must be starch.
Or <g> it is a pretend solution ... since, if you took water, put it on the line and folded as they instruct, between the memory in the cotton fabric, and the fold you are making while damp (where do wrinkles come from?)
the results would be the same if you used a damp finger.
I would think you could accomplish the same thing with a Q-tip and liquid starch or plain water.
If I understand the concept correctly, the starch would make the edging for applique very crisp.

I looked at the description and it seems to me it's just a marking pen. The thing about "no need to press" may be just pointing out that pressing is optional for most applications (as it would be with any other marking device!).
